Our Work

Teen Ventures, a magazine by teens, for teens, as part of Empower And Help, a youth-based non-profit organization. With 100+ fun-packed pages containing several topics such as teen immigration, college applications, voting as a teen, movies & TV shows, teen sports, mental health, makeup tips, teen protests, and more. ...

My first introduction to Empower And Help was through their summer youth leadership camps in NC which I started in middle school. It helped create a strong internal radar for myself, and I learned about the importance of self-esteem empowerment and goal setting. I started my journey at Empower And Help at the age of 13 and today I am with the organization serving as a Board member and Editor-in-chief for Teen Ventures issue I.

Working through Teen Ventures, I learned critical communication skills to keep the project on track. Working with all the members of Teen Ventures magazine I have learned that no matter the location, we have the power and reach to make an impact and do big things.

The Teen Ventures magazine is more than having the perfect font, articles, or pictures. It is about the journey and creativity of our youth to publish a magazine with a diverse range of thought. Creating a magazine from start to finish with a year-long commitment is a labor of love that brings everyone closer during these months.

I watched them step out of their comfort zone to make this magazine. I watched them work with each other, whether remotely or in person. We have students from Jordan from NC to NJ working on this magazine. I hope you all enjoy reading the Teen Ventures magazine as much as we enjoyed creating it.
